Well, 11 months after breaking ground I can say it looks like we are finally done!  It's been quite an arduous task, a bit surreal and certainly satisfying to have accomplished this build.  Below are pics of the pine floors before and after finishing, room pics requested by my sister and other stuff.  Thanks to all for following and the kind thoughts and encouragement you have passed along.

Here are the finished floors.  We elected to go with a custom stain, sealer and paste wax finish, very old school!

Propane guys showed up and installed 250 gal tank. Powers kitchen range, water heater, furnace and garage heater,



Back splash I installed, you can see the pot filler we found, also Italian as is the stove.



My " utility pole".  for my phone company friends, you can see my network interface mounted.. We have Verizon landline service.  Will eventually also relocate the Hughes Internet satellite dish there.



OK, now some room pics.  Still need to build a chimney cover for the exhaust duct.

Vanity sink I built from an old wash stand, leftover soapstone and a neat sink and faucet.  It sits in powder room off kitchen.

Not supposed to be a water dog, but she loves to go in one of the ponds and then roll in the garden.


another Great Pyrenees.  He is a male, thanks we got Maddy neutered recently.

Installed some drip irrigation for peaches... since then we have had tons of rain. :)
